Murray is a senior banking and finance lawyer advising clients across a broad range of debt capital markets and lending transactions.

Murray has particular experience in acquisition financing and a well-established securitisation practice. Murray advises some of New Zealand’s leading corporates on their funding requirements as well as acting for a number of leading financial institutions such as ANZ Bank New Zealand, Bank of New Zealand, Citibank and Goldman Sachs.

Murray is recognised as one of New Zealand’s leading securitisation lawyers and advises on both wholesale funding structures and regulatory issues at the consumer level.

The IFLR1000 2024 ranks Murray as a 'highly regarded' lawyer for banking and finance. The Legal 500 Asia Pacific 2024 ranks him in the 'Hall of Fame' for banking and finance and considers him "a leader in the securitisation market." In a previous edition, clients described Murray as providing "considered and thoughtful solutions-focused guidance on complex business issues."

The Chambers Asia Pacific 2024 also recognises Murray in the top tier of banking and finance lawyers in New Zealand.

Murray contributed to the International Comparative Legal Guide to Securitisation 2016 (Global Legal Group).
