​​Mathew's experience includes structuring, negotiating and drafting complex development agreements and construction contracts. He also has experience advising on agreements for sale and purchase and significant commercial leases.

He has built strong relationships with and advises a number of the firm's key clients including Precinct Properties, Tainui, ANZ, Port Marlborough, Crown Infrastructure Partners, Wellington City Council, Tauranga City Council and Taupo District Council.

Advised Precinct Properties on all aspects of its acquisition, leasing and construction for its development at 61 Molesworth Street, Wellington.

Advised Precinct Properties on the construction contracts for the delivery of the Government's Wellington Accommodation Project Tranche 2 (WAP2), including the construction contracts for seismic strengthening and redevelopment of the Charles Fergusson Building, New Zealand Defence House, Mayfair House, 1 The Terrace, and Pastoral House.

Advised Precinct Properties on the construction contract and development agreement for its seismic strengthening and redevelopment of Bowen House.

Advised Precinct Properties on all aspects of the development, leasing and construction of its Bowen Campus Stage 2 Development comprising two new buildings at 40-44 Bowen Street, Wellington.

Advised Precinct Properties on the construction contract for the redevelopment of the lower and basement levels of 1 Willis Street, Wellington.

Advised Precinct Properties on the construction contracts for the seismic strengthening and redevelopment of the historic Dunbar Sloane Building.

Tainui
Advised Tainui on its purchase of a half share in Centre Place North, a large retail shopping centre in central Hamilton, as part of a complex joint venture arrangement with Kiwi Property.

Advised Tainui on its commercial office development in Hamilton for ACC including on the development, leasing and construction agreements.

Advised Tainui on its development and leasing of the Ruakura inland port and logistics hub.
