Dean Alderton

Dean is a specialist corporate lawyer, with a particular focus on M&A, private equity, corporate advisory and infrastructure. He has a reputation for being an integral adviser to many of our clients given his focus on managing complex legal situations, driving commercial outcomes and assisting with executing on their key strategic initiatives.

Dean has significant local and international experience advising a wide range of private equity, infrastructure and corporate clients across a broad range of sectors and industries, including financial services, aged care, agriculture, energy, healthcare, retail and technology.

He works closely with our clients and their other key advisers in order to best understand and advise on legal issues which may impact their businesses, strategic objectives and investment decisions. He is results focussed, and enjoys being part of our client's broader service delivery team.

In addition to his own practice, Dean is the leader of Bell Gully's corporate and commercial team. Under his leadership, the team has in the last two review periods been recognised as New Zealand's leading law firm for M&A (by deal volume) by international M&A league table publishers Dealogic and Refinitiv.
