Bell Gully has once again been recognised as a leader among New Zealand’s law firms in the 2026 Asia Pacific rankings released by respected international legal directory Chambers & Partners.
The firm has retained all of its Band 1 rankings for practice areas, including in Banking & Finance, Competition/Antitrust, Corporate/Commercial, Dispute Resolution, Energy & Natural Resources, Public Law, Real Estate and Tax.
The Band 1 rankings of a number of partners were also endorsed again by Chambers: Anna Buchly and James Gibson (Corporate/Commercial), Torrin Crowther (Competition/Antitrust), Andrew Petersen and Jane Holland (Real Estate), David Coull (Energy & Natural Resources) and Mathew McKay (Tax).
A large number of Bell Gully lawyers were promoted in the rankings, including well-known tax partner Willy Sussman, named as Senior Statesperson in tax. Bell Gully lawyers who moved higher in the rankings include litigation partner Sophie East (Dispute Resolution), Natasha Garvan (Environment & Resource Management), Kirsty Dobbs (Public Law), Katie Dow (Financial Services), Karl Anderson (Real Estate) and Sam Dykes and Zac Kedgley-Foot (Banking & Finance).
Jennifer Coote (Corporate) and Sarah Anderson-Butler (Banking & Finance) entered the rankings for the first time.
Firm chair Torrin Crowther commented “Well done to all of our lawyers who have retained their Band 1 rankings and those who have been promoted in the rankings. Their performance in these rankings across such a broad spread of practice areas recognises the talent and dedication of our team, and our firm-wide commitment to delivering exceptional outcomes that make a difference to our clients.”
