  • Bell Gully stands at the top of the table for Band 1 practice areas in Chambers Asia Pacific 2017, which also continues to rank the firm as having the most Band 1 individuals in this jurisdiction. The firm has led these rankings for 14 years.

  • In Chambers Global 2016, Bell Gully is the only New Zealand firm to have a partner ranked as a leading lawyer for climate change work.

  • The 2017 edition of The Legal 500 Asia Pacific awarded Bell Gully more 'leading individual' rankings than any other New Zealand law firm for the 16th year in a row, a period for which the firm has also stood at the top of the table for practice area rankings.

  • The IFLR1000 2017 has awarded Bell Gully its highest ranking in all of the practice areas the guide researches in New Zealand, and has done so for 11 of the past 12 years. The firm has been at the top of the table for "leading lawyer" rankings among New Zealand firms throughout that period.

  • In 2017, Global Competition Review's GCR 100 has recognised Bell Gully as having an 'elite' competition practice for the past 12 years, its highest ranking in New Zealand.

  • International Tax Review's World Tax 2017  awarded Bell Gully's tax practice a top-tier ranking, for the 14th consecutive year.

  • Bell Gully won the award for best provider to the Financial and Insurance Services industries in Australasia, at the Financial Review’s 2017 Client Choice Awards. Bell Gully is the only New Zealand law firm to receive a 2017 Client Choice Award from the Financial Review.  

  • Bell Gully won Deal Team of the Year for the firm's corporate team at the New Zealand Law Awards  in 2016. We advised on the transactions named as M&A Deal of the Year, Capital Markets Deal of the Year, New Zealand Deal of the Year and International Deal of the Year.

  • Bell Gully has been named New Zealand Law Firm of the Year at the Chambers Asia Pacific Awards 2016, the second time the firm has h eld the award.
  • The International Tax Review named Bell Gully New Zealand Tax Firm of the Year at the Asia Tax Awards 2016.

  • The firm advised on the transaction named as Debt Market Deal of the Year at the Australasian Law Awards in 2016.
