Rebecca has in-depth experience advising on a wide range of non-contentious employment matters such as disciplinary and performance management processes, personal grievances and enforceability of restraints of trade.

She has also managed proceedings in the Employment Relations Authority and the Employment Court in New Zealand, as well as proceedings in the Employment Tribunal and early stage proceedings in the Employment Appeal Tribunal in the UK. Rebecca has conducted mediations and numerous similar early conciliation processes in both jurisdictions.

Work highlights

Prior to joining Bell Gully in 2024:


  • Managing all aspects of preparation for, and attendance at investigations in the Employment Relations Authority and hearings in the Employment Court in New Zealand, as well as hearings in the Employment Tribunal in the UK.
  • Resolving complex disputes in relation to high-net-worth individuals.


Advising corporate clients and senior executives on an extensive range of employment issues, facilitating internal processes, and resolving disputes through without prejudice negotiations. Some key recent examples include:

  • Managing the strategy for, and advising on the implementation of numerous complex, largescale and multi-stage redundancy processes for some of the UK’s largest employers in the context of the Covid-19 pandemic.
  • Preparing and assisting with the implementation of suites of bonus and incentive schemes for largescale tech companies.

Corporate transactions

Providing advice and strategic guidance, conducting due diligence and preparing sale and purchase agreements in relation to the employment aspects of asset and share sales and acquisitions.
