Meggan is an experienced litigator and advocate with a broad background in civil dispute resolution.

She has acted for clients and advised on a wide range of contentious matters, including shareholder and director disputes, compulsory land acquisition compensation claims, regulatory investigations and prosecutions, insurance disputes, professional disciplinary proceedings, property disputes and insolvencies.

Meggan has appeared before various Courts and Tribunals across New Zealand, including the Court of Appeal.

Compulsory land acquisition and valuation claims

Acting for Auckland Council and City Rail Link Limited in a number of compulsory land acquisition compensation claims in relation to the City Rail Link.

Insurance litigation

Acted for Southern Response in proceedings in the Canterbury Earthquakes Insurance Tribunal.
Acting for Riskpool in proceedings brought by local councils for late notified claims under the Riskpool mutual scheme.

Regulatory investigations and proceedings

Acting for clients in regulatory investigations by the Reserve Bank, Commerce Commission and Financial Market Authority, including in response to statutory information requests and High Court pecuniary penalty proceedings.

Company disputes

Acting for shareholders and directors in complex disputes, including in several High Court proceedings.

Professional disciplinary proceedings

Acting for real estate agents in professional disciplinary and complaint proceedings in the Real Estate Authority.
