Emma is a Senior Associate in Bell Gully’s industry-leading competition team. Prior to re-joining Bell Gully, Emma spent several years in London working at magic circle firm Linklaters where she was a Managing Associate.

Emma brings with her extensive international competition law experience having advised clients on EU, UK and multijurisdictional merger control matters, completed a six-month secondment to the Phase 1 Mergers Division of the Competition and Markets Authority (CMA, the competition regulator in the UK), and obtained a Postgraduate Diploma in EU Competition Law at King’s College London.

Acquisition of the MBCC Group by Sika AG
Advising Sika AG on the regulatory requirements of its acquisition of MBCC Group. This matter was cleared by the Commerce Commission subject to a complex global divestment.

Waterlogic Group Holdings
Advising Waterlogic on the competition implications of its combination with Culligan International to create a leader in sustainable drinking water solutions and services. This transaction was cleared by the Commerce Commission subject to a divestment.

Abuse of dominance investigations
Advising clients in relation to the UK CMA’s long-running investigations into the alleged excessive pricing of various generic pharmaceuticals in the UK, and the subsequent appeals of the CMA’s decisions.

Cartel investigation
Advising a major generic pharmaceutical company on the CMA’s investigation into alleged market sharing in the market for the supply of nortriptyline in the UK, including in relation to the settlement achieved in this case.
