Jayne Kirton

Legal Support Director, Management Team, Auckland

​​Jayne is a member of Bell Gully's senior management team. Her legal experience is in the fields of acquisitions and dispositions of business, corporate restructurings, equity transactions and joint ventures. In addition, she is a notary public and a fellow of Chartered Secretaries New Zealand.

As Legal Support Director for Bell Gully, Jayne is responsible for managing the firm's legal services risks, ensuring compliance with the New Zealand Law Society's Rules of Conduct and Client Care, including managing our handling of conflicts of interest. She is also responsible for leading the business teams that directly work with the​ lawyers – the secretarial and the information services teams; and she is the coordinator of the firm-wide business continuity plan.

Jayne has significant project management experience, having managed a variety of complex and major transactions. As a partner for 21 years, she forged strong relationships advising Fletcher Challenge, its sector companies and the companies which emerged on its separation – principally Fletcher Building.

Jayne's background includes working in the firm's property and finance teams, and while working in Toronto, Canada, she was involved in corporate, securities and commercial financing matters.
