Bell Gully is delighted partner Ian Gault has been appointed as a Judge of the High Court of New Zealand.
Ian joined Bell Gully in 1993, before joining the partnership in 1997. Over the next 21 years, Ian established expertise across numerous areas including trade practices, intellectual property, international trade, insurance, cyber security, public law and trusts. Ian was also part of the one of the longest civil trials in New Zealand history – a claim for Carter Holt Harvey against Genesis Energy and Rolls-Royce, which was settled after eight months in Court.
Ian is highly ranked across the major legal directories and has supported the firm's growth across litigation and dispute resolution in particular.
Bell Gully chair Anna Buchly said Justice Gault's contribution to the firm has been immense and wide-ranging.
