Rosslyn is an experienced litigator with a broad background that includes litigation and dispute resolution, restructuring and insolvency, class actions and government and public law.

Rosslyn is a senior associate in Bell Gully’s industry-leading litigation team. She has a widespread experience in both public and private sectors, advising on complex contentious matters including regulatory investigations, commercial litigation and judicial review.

Rosslyn is an experienced advocate, having appeared as counsel in the District Court, High Court, Employment Court and Court of Appeal. She has also been a criminal prosecutor, acting as counsel in jury trials involving serious offending.

Financial regulatory enquiry into market manipulation
Acted for the Australian offices of a multi-national financial institution on a cross-border financial regulatory enquiry into rate fixing, including the response to Australian regulators.

Foreign bribery and corruption investigation
Defended a company in response to the first criminal prosecution by the Australian Federal Police for conspiracy to commit foreign bribery charges under Australia’s Criminal Code (Cth), and acted on associated pecuniary penalty orders.

Australian Federal Court proceedings regarding aircraft financing
Acted for a company in Australian Federal Court proceedings bringing claims against directors for oppressive conduct, breach of directors’ duties and misleading and deceptive conduct in connection with certain aircraft-owning special purpose vehicles.

Litigation and investigations following collapse of an associated company
Acted for a listed company and its officers and advisers on matters arising from the collapse of an associated company, including judicial review of a decision of a regulator, claims by liquidators in relation to alleged noncommercial transactions, and public examinations.

Climate change litigation in High Court
Acted for the Crown in defending climate change claims in the New Zealand High Court.

Acting for government departments
Acted as Crown Counsel advising and appearing for government departments in judicial review proceedings and other litigation in the New Zealand High Court and Employment Court, including pay equity, alleged breach of privacy, immigration, social security payments, climate change and jurisdictional issues.

Criminal prosecution
Acted as Crown prosecutor in jury trials for serious crimes in the District Court and High Court, and in appeals in the High Court.
