Hellaby Holdings takeover 
Advised Bapcor on its NZ$350 million takeover of Hellaby Holdings.

Mitsui investment in LanzaTech
Advised Mitsui & Co on the New Zealand aspects of its US$20 million investment in a US$60 million round of fundraising for start-up compan​y LanzaTech.

Government of Singapore Investment Corporation (GIC) joint venture with Goodman Property
Advised GIC on its acquisition of a 49% share in a joint venture company with an interest in five leasehold office buildings in Auckland's Viaduct Quarter with a value of NZ$313 million, and the joint venture arrangements with the 51% joint venture partner, Goodman Property Trust.

​Air New Zealand's alliance with Air China
Advised Air New Zealand and Air China on their strategic alliance allowing joint sales for a new daily direct service between Auckland and Beijing. The alliance received approval from New Zealand Minister of Transport Hon Simon Bridges in September 2015.

Matson acquisition of Reef Shipping (In Receivership)
Advised Matson, a US-based shipping company, on the acquisition of shares and assets from various Reef Group companies located across the Asia Pacific and the Caribbean.

Castlebrae Farm and Winery's purchase
Acted for Ling Hai Group on the purchase of Marlborough's Castlebrae farm and vineyards.

Peppers Carrington resort, golf course and winery's sale
Advised on the sale of the Carrington resort and golf course, Carrington Estate winery and related businesses to Shanghai CRED Real Estate. The sale also involved advising on the transfer of a number of employees from different vendor entities to the purchaser.

Overseas Investment Act advice
Regularly advising clients looking to invest in New Zealand on the requirements of the Overseas Investment Act, including preparing applications for consent and liaising with the Overseas Investment Office in respect of applications. Partner Andrew Petersen​ was a representative on the Technical Reference Group advising the New Zealand Government on the review of the Overseas Investment Act.

Asahi Group acquisition of Independent Liquor
Advised Asahi on the New Zealand law aspects of the NZ$1.5 billion acquisition of Independent Liquor, Asahi's largest ever acquisition.

Charlie's takeover
Advised Asahi Group on its successful takeover of NZX listed juice and soft drink maker, Charlie's Group.

​Registration of JPMorgan Chase and Bank of Baroda
Advised JPMorgan Chase and Bank of Baroda on their registration as banks under the Reserve Bank of New Zealand Act.

Infringement of Hefty trademark
Advised Intellectual Property Development Corporation on major trade mark infringement litigation concerning the Hefty trademark, including an initial interim injunction application, full trial, and two appeals.

Bangladesh Parliament on obligations under United Nations conventions
Advised Bangladesh, the country most significantly affected by climate change, on its negotiating position and key objectives at the Cancún United Nations Climate Change Conference. This work included advising the Bangladesh Parliament on the link between climate change and human rights obligations under United Nations conventions.

World's first carbon deal for avoided deforestation
Advised the Government of Aceh (Indonesia) on a deal which will protect Aceh's rainforests from logging for up to NZ$1 billion in carbon credits over the next 30 years. This is the world's first carbon deal for avoided deforestation.

Film production financing
Advised a syndicate of US and Chinese banks cashflowing the new international screen production grant for feature films in respect of the motion picture Crouching Tiger Hidden Dragon 2.

Chinese steel industry
Acted jointly with law firms Kirkland & Ellis (Washington) and King & Wood (China) to represent the Chinese industry in a US steel investigation.
