Almost all of our partners and lawyers summer clerked with the firm. It is a great way to start your career too.

​Our interview process

Applications open on the 15th of March and close at noon on the 5th of April. After we have reviewed and selected your application, you will be invited to our interview process.

Take a moment to prepare for the interview and make the most of the experience.

The interview process has two stages. The first step is a formal interview with two of our partners, followed by a cocktail function. After the first interviews have been completed, Bell Gully will invite selected candidates to a second interview which will take place in early May.

You will be advised by email if your application is successful.​

Interview team

You'll be met by one of our junior solicitors, who can answer any of your questions about the process before the interview. Our interview style is relaxed and informal. It's designed to let us get to know you, and for you to get an understanding of the firm.

The recruitment team is led by Toby Sharpe.



Interview tips

  • Check your interview time and arrive five minutes early so that you are not rushing.

  • Before you set out, make sure you know where you are going for the interview and how long it will take you to get there.

  • Dress appropriately, either in a business suit or other smart clothing.

  • Be prepared to discuss your CV. If you have included achievements or interests, you may well be asked to talk about them.

  • We don't ask set questions and don't expect set answers.

  • Most importantly, be yourself!
