Bell Gully is delighted to announce the appointment of new Wellington litigation partner, Tim Smith.

|Tim Smith specialises in commercial and public law litigation and has experience in energy, insolvency, tax, and regulatory litigation. He has worked extensively with both commercial and public sector clients. Prior to joining Bell Gully Tim was a partner in the Wellington Crown Solicitor’s Office and Crown Counsel in, and Deputy Team Leader of, the tax and commercial team of the Crown Law Office.|

The returning alumni are Toni Forrest, Angela Harford and Susannah Shaw.
|Toni Forrest is a specialist corporate lawyer with extensive experience advising on mergers and acquisitions, takeovers, joint ventures, capital raisings and corporate restructurings. She returns to Bell Gully after five and a half years working in London.|
|Angela Harford advises on a broad range of corporate and commercial transactions, including mergers and acquisitions, takeovers, joint ventures, private equity, corporate restructurings and complex commercial contracts. Angela returns to Bell Gully after four years working for Slaughter and May in London.|
|Susannah Shaw is an experienced commercial lawyer who has returned to Bell Gully after an in-house role at Unisys New Zealand. She provides contracting advice to both the public and private sector and has particular expertise on major IT outsourcing projects.|
Toni, Angela and Susannah are joined as senior associates by Ian Becke, Richard Massey, Brad Ward and Lauren Whitehead.
|Ian Becke joined Bell Gully in November last year. He has 10 years’ experience advising on the structuring, procurement and delivery of infrastructure and construction projects including public private partnerships, and the acquisition and divestment of real estate assets. Prior to moving to New Zealand in 2014, Ian was a senior associate in the infrastructure and projects team at Ashurst in Sydney.|
|Richard Massey has been with Bell Gully since 2013 and has broad commercial litigation experience. He acts on major regulatory investigations and complex High Court disputes, with a particular focus on competition, banking and consumer law.|
|Brad Ward’s legal career commenced at Bell Gully after graduating in 2010. He is a commercial litigator with experience in complex commercial disputes, particularly in contentious construction matters and insurance disputes.|
|Lauren Whitehead joined Bell Gully in March after a decade working for leading Australian firm, Herbert Smith Freehills. She advises on infrastructure projects and public private partnerships including probity aspects, as well as construction and general corporate advisory.|
