The 2009 recapitalisation of Fisher & Paykel Appliances was last night recognised as the New Zealand Deal of the Year at the ALB Australasian Law Awards in Sydney.
As New Zealand legal advisers to Fisher & Paykel Appliances, Bell Gully was recognised as a joint winner for its work on the recapitalisation, including the introduction of Haier Group as a cornerstone 20% shareholder.
Bell Gully chairman Roger Partridge and corporate partner Brynn Gilbertson, lead partner for Bell Gully on the Fisher & Paykel transaction, were in Sydney for the awards ceremony.
The firm has previously been recognised in numerous categories at the annual ALB Awards including for New Zealand Deal of the Year in 2006, 2007 and 2008.
Roger Partridge says the firm is delighted to have been recognised for its role in acting for Fisher & Paykel.
"We thank Fisher & Paykel Appliances for the opportunity they gave us to assist it. Working with the Fisher & Paykel in-house team, management and board was a privilege."
Mr Partridge says Bell Gully is also delighted that its client, ANZ National Bank, was named winner of the New Zealand In-house Team of the Year.
"We congratulate ANZ National's General Counsel, Debra Blackett, and her team on their win."
