Two new partners for Bell Gully

Commercial litigator Jenny Stevens and tax specialist Mathew McKay are Bell Gully's newest partners.

Armed with degrees in economics and law, Jenny began her legal career with Bell Gully, quickly becoming a rising star in the litigation team. Three years at leading London firm Norton Rose followed and, since returning to Bell Gully in 2004, Jenny has secured a reputation as an astute adviser on complex competition and regulatory issues particularly in the aviation, banking and energy sectors.

Mathew advises local and overseas companies on all aspects of New Zealand tax law. Joining Bell Gully's tax team in 2001 his experience spans advising on corporate taxation law, structured finance transactions, employee share and option plans, debt securitisations and tax disclosures in offer documentation. He regularly obtains binding rulings from the Inland Revenue Department on complex issues and has successfully represented clients in disputes with the Inland Revenue Department.
