Bell Gully senior partner David McGregor has been appointed a Judge of the Court Martial Appeal Court.
Mr McGregor OBE, has a distinguished record of leadership in the defence forces and community, running parallel to his career as a preeminent resource management and public law practitioner.
He will sit in the Court Martial Appeal Court for hearings as they arise, while maintaining his practice with the Bell Gully partnership.
Mr McGregor joined the New Zealand Army in 1970 and was a Commanding Officer between 1982 and 1986. He was Territorial Force Military Secretary (1986-90), Territorial Force Advisor to the General Staff (1990-4), and retired as Brigadier in 1994.
He is a member of the Territorial Force Employer Support Council and chairperson of both the War Pensions Appeal Board and Ranfurly War Veterans Home.
Mr McGregor is Bell Gully's longest serving partner. After being admitted to the Bar in 1971, he joined Buddle Weir and Co, becoming a partner in 1973. Buddle Weir and Co of Auckland and Bell Gully of Wellington merged in 1984 to form the basis of today's Bell Gully.
