Participants at a major litigation conference have looked at practical ways to improve advocacy skills and have explored options around damages and remedies in civil cases.
The Civil Litigation Lexicon, held in Auckland on 16-17 June, was designed to highlight these two key elements of the litigation process and Bell Gully litigation experts, partner Jenny Cooper and senior associate Tim Clarke, both presented sessions.
Jenny looked at how to pursue or defend a case for economic loss and the practical issues that arise in terms of evidence. To read her paper, The challenges in proving economic loss, click here.
Tim's presentation, What to say and how to say it when preparing and presenting applications in chambers, was aimed at junior to intermediate solicitors and outlined what to expect when working on preliminary and interlocutory matters.
