Comments called for on Australia-New Zealand double tax agreement

The government has invited the public to comment on a proposed double tax agreement between Australia and New Zealand ahead of formal negotiations expected to begin in late March.

On 25 January, Finance Minister Michael Cullen and Revenue Minister Peter Dunn called for submissions on the double tax agreement that would remove tax obstacles to cross-border trade and investment and provide greater certainty about how cross-border investment income should be taxed.
