Simon is a commercial litigator who specialises in competition law.
He has acted for domestic and multinational clients, providing advice and advocacy in a number of leading Commerce Commission cartel investigations and related court proceedings. Simon is also an experienced commercial litigator with expertise in managing large, complex disputes in a broad range of fields.
Before joining Bell Gully, Simon completed an LLM in antitrust law and litigation at the University of Chicago Law School and worked at Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer in London, where he was a senior associate in the litigation department and a member of the firm's antitrust, competition and trade group.
Chambers Asia Pacific 2013 describes Simon as a "respected commercial litigator" and ranks him as a leading individual in competition and insurance. One client "praises his round-the-clock availability and blend of technical skill and commercial nous, concluding: 'A safe pair of hands is really important, and we always get that with Simon'." The 2012 edition describes him as "a competition law litigation specialist who is 'prepared to push his client's position'."
