Michelle is an experienced litigator, specialising in employment law.
Michelle has extensive experience representing employers at mediation, the Employment Relations Authority and the Employment Court, and provides strategic commercial advice about the resolution of personal grievances and other workplace issues.
She advises clients on matters including corporate restructuring, redundancy, disciplinary and termination procedures. She also drafts, negotiates and advises on employment agreements and workplace policies.
Michelle partners with employers to assist them to deal with legislative changes and regularly provides advice about holidays, health and safety, workplace stress claims, restraints of trade, KiwiSaver, collective employment issues, performance management processes, parental leave and the negotiated exits of senior employees. She also has extensive experience in the area of executive remuneration and the employment aspects of mergers and acquisitions.
Michelle has spoken on a wide range of human resources issues at various conferences in both Wellington and Auckland.
Michelle rejoined Bell Gully at the start of 2009 after two and a half years practising employment law at Allen & Overy LLP and Salans, both in London.
