Jenny is a general commercial litigator with specialist skills in company and securities law, fair trading and consumer issues, and competition regulation.

She regularly advises clients in investigations by the Commerce Commission and Securities Commission and has acted on a range of commercial disputes.

From 2004 – 2007 Jenny acted for Midavia Rail Investments and David Richwhite on the Tranz Rail insider trading investigation and proceedings brought by the Securities Commission. A settlement without admission of liability was successfully achieved in June 2007.

Jenny has also been acting for Carter Holt Harvey Limited since 2005 on a Commerce Commission investigation and both criminal and civil proceedings under the Fair Trading Act arising out of the grading of structural timber. Jenny appeared on Carter Holt's successful application to strike out the civil proceedings. The proceedings are currently on appeal to the Supreme Court.

Jenny also advises and acts on a range of other matters, including the Credit Contracts and Consumer Finance Act, shareholder and joint venture disputes, breach of contract, and insolvency issues.

Before joining Bell Gully, Jenny was a diplomat in the UK Foreign & Commonwealth Office, where she worked with international legal institutions including the International Criminal Tribunal for the former Yugoslavia and the International Court of Justice.

She spent three years as a Rhodes Scholar at Oxford University, where she completed Masters degrees in International Relations and Law.
