Andrew is an employment law specialist with extensive experience in dismissals, redundancy, workplace safety, strikes and lockouts.
He has particularly wide experience as an advocate at mediation, the primary problem solving forum under New Zealand employment law. Andrew has also led, and advised on, collective bargaining for both employers and unions.
In addition, Andrew has extensive litigation experience which includes appearing as counsel in specialist tribunals, District Court, High Court and Court of Appeal proceedings.
In 2007, Andrew was appointed by the New Zealand Law Society to its Employment Law Committee.
He is also New Zealand's representative to the Fédération Internationale Des Associations de Footballeurs Professionels (the International Representative organisation for professional soccer players).
Chambers Global 2008 describes Andrew as being "well known for his work before courts and tribunals", and as having "extensive litigation experience ... including trial advocacy in a wide range of commercial and workplace disputes." Andrew is also listed as a recommended individual in PLC Which Lawyer? 2008.
Andrew is co-author of the Brooker's text "Workplace Stress in New Zealand" and is the employment law columnist for The Independent newspaper.
