Amon is an experienced corporate transaction specialist.
He advises both listed and unlisted companies on public offers, private placements, employee share plans, mergers and acquisitions, stock exchange compliance and company and securities law. Amon's clients also include a number of closely-held entities, joint ventures and joint venture parties.
Amon began his legal career at Bell Gully in 1999 and, until 2004, worked in the Wellington office advising corporate and commercial clients on a broad range of transactions. He has served as a commissioned officer with the New Zealand Army in Timor Leste and spent three years practising internationally in the New York and London offices of Cravath, Swaine & Moore LLP.
Amon rejoined the firm in 2007 and, since then, has proven his exemplary skills in getting his clients the best results in all aspects of corporate and commercial law. Amon's recent work includes advising on the public offer and NZX listing of DNZ Property Fund Limited, acting for the board of directors of Horizon Energy Distribution Limited in responding to various takeover offers and the establishment of Payments NZ Limited, the inter-bank payments business.
